Be careful what you wish for!

You've been asking for more pictures of Myla, so here they are. Myla sleeping, Myla awake, Myla close up, Myla with visitors--we hope you have a high tolerance for babies!

In other news, we had Myla weighed today, and she's a robust 8 pounds, 11 ounces. This means she's put on over a pound in the last 11 days, and a pound and a half since she left the hospital. We've been saying that she's a good eater, and the proof is in those chubby cheeks!

We're also in the middle of a string of visitors. Most recently, my parents came up to help out for a couple of days and spend time with their first grandchild. Matthew's entire family is coming in this weekend, including cousin Anna. Next up are my Granny, Pa, and Uncle Tim, and Kelly and David. We love introducing Myla to her wonderful extended family!

Shout out to my fans!

Hello, friends and family! Sorry it has taken me so long to make a post, but it took me a couple of weeks to learn to type. I couldn't fit lessons in with all the sleeping and eating I've been doing! If I do say so myself, I am a very good baby. I have even been letting Mom and Dad get some decent sleep at nights! The highlights of my life so far have been going on walks, spending time with my visitors (Mom and Dad's South Bend friends, my grandparents, and great-grandma Faye and Great Aunts Rita and Shirley), and seeing Dad every day when he comes home from work. Mom and I are always so happy to see him!

I hope to meet more of you in the coming days and weeks. I'll also do my best to take an extra nap or two so that Mom can update the blog more often. She assures me that an updated slide show will be up soon. It's not easy to be this cute, so she'd better start sharing some pictures!

Lots of love,
Myla

Hospital Photo

Hello everyone! Myla, Mom, and Dad are home and doing very well. We all got a pretty good night's sleep last night, and Myla was amazing during her doctors' appointments today. We think she's a keeper!

We'll post a bunch of pictures in the next few days--sorry it's taken a while, but we know you understand that we're busy. Even when we have spare moments, we find ourselves using them to stare at her. :) In the meantime, click on the title of this post to see Myla's hospital photo. She sends her best to all of you!

P.S.--It looks like the link above is a bit temperamental. If it doesn't work for you, try going to www.our365.com and entering our information (birthday: 6/5/08, Mom's last three letters: buc, city: South Bend, IN).

Baby Blaze Has Arrived!!!

Myla James Blazejewski was born at 10:31 PM on Thursday, June 5, 2008. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and is absolutely perfect! Kasey, Matthew, and Myla are all doing great!

For those dads out there that have experienced this, I'm honored to now be a part of the club. My wife is the greatest, strongest, most beautiful person I know. Just when I didn't think she could make me any more proud, she blew me away last night.

Enjoy a couple of pictures of Myla and that crazy hair! You can also keep visiting the blog for any new updates and we'll be sure to have a more extensive recap of how we went from nothing happening on Wednesday to having a baby girl on Thursday. We can't wait for everyone to meet her!

Not Ready for This World

Well, we just returned from our 39-week doctor's appointment, and nothing suggests that Baby Blaze's arrival is imminent. In fact, she has apparently retreated a bit. We go in next Tuesday for the 40-week appointment, and some tests that will make sure everything is fine with our fully-cooked bambino. In the meantime, I'm wondering why she might be reluctant to join the rest of us in this world. Here are some possibilities:

1. With The Office in reruns, there's nothing she wants to watch on TV.

2. I am feeding her lots of ice cream and she knows that will stop once she's out.

3. Two words: Chad Johnson.

4. She wants to torture Aunt Kelly, who leaves for Europe on the 13th.

5. Most likely reason: She can't handle the fact that the Tampa Bay Rays (!) are ahead of the Red Sox in the division standings, and Ortiz is on the DL.

Long Overdue Post

Kasey and I have been really bad about posting pictures of her througout the pregnancy so here's a little catch-up. No funny nesting stories around here, just lots of waiting and saying things like "this might be the last time I ever (fill in the blank) without a kid." Enjoy!
