Myla's First Tee-Ball Game!

One of the moments Matthew and I have been looking forward to since we first became parents has arrived . . . our first tee-ball game.  Last Saturday, Myla and the rest of her Chandler Sales teammates took the field for the first time.  It was a big day for Matthew as well, as he's the team's manager.

There are eleven kids on Myla's team, and we knew all but one of them already.  It's a fantastic group, the kids are all well-behaved and really into it.  Myla went three-for-three on the day and played second base, just like her Mom.  Here are some pictures of the big day:

Before the game, looking good.

Excellent defensive stance!

Getting some advice from Coach Andy.  "There are two outs, so run on anything!"

Coach Matthew gives her some tips before an at-bat.  We're teaching her to be a leftie.  To do otherwise would be neglecting our parenting duties.  Also, she wanted to be number 19, for Joey Votto, but there are no 19's.  So she decided to be #9, and we're going to try to add a "1" in front of it.

And it's a hit!

The team shakes hands afterwards.  Good game!

Curling Fans

Tonight was Matthew's night to play on our curling team, so the kids and I went and watched. The Kinnucan kids were there, and Zoey Johnson. Kids had fun, and our team is now 5-0!

Target Pics

It's been quite a while since we've had pictures made in a studio.  I was recently going through some old ones, and realized that even though they're cheesy, and sometimes don't turn out well, they're really fun to have.  So, we had some made last weekend.  Here's a link to the proofs:

Goofballs

Matthew picked the kids up from school one day and I met them at a restaurant. I walked in and saw these two clowns. Myla had made paper headbands for both of them at school. What you can't see is that Myla had also rolled her pants up past her knees for some reason. Some day they'll be embarrassed to have dinner with me in public and I'll remind them of times like this.

Sesame Street Live

Last week we did something I've been meaning to do for a long time. We took the kids to see a show at the Morris Performing Arts Center here in South Bend. The show was Sesame Street Live, and to say the kids loved it is an understatement. Myla in particular was really into it. She actually said, "I'm so glad we came here, this is so cool!" Gotta love anything that gets you that reaction.
