Matthew lights up South Bend

Matthew really upped the ante this year with the Christmas lights. The biggest addition was the lighting of the five new trees by the river, which look fantastic and are in a place where everyone driving through town sees them. Pictures simply don't do it justice, but we've both had a ton of friends and coworkers comment on them. We got the strangest compliment so far this afternoon, when former South Bend mayor and Indiana governor Joe Kernan stopped by to thank us for lighting up the neighborhood! He even brought us a bottle of champagne, which Matthew is proudly displaying below. I'm glad other people are enjoying them as much as I do.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Here are some pictures of snow, as promised! We had our first sizable snowfall last night, when we got about 8 inches. While Matthew was digging us out this morning, a local news reporter stopped by and interviewed him about the weather. We saw him on the 6:00 news--if they put the video on their website, we'll link to it!

Welcome to the Baby Blaze Blog!

Kasey and I decided to take a page out of Matt and Jennifer's book and start a blog for friends and family to read. With so many of our friends and family being away from us, we thought this would be an easy way to share pictures and stories over the next six months and beyond. Until the baby comes, you'll have to just enjoy looking at pictures of me, Kasey, our house, our friends and family, and probably lots of pictures of snow. We figured the most appropriate first picture to share would be the ultrasound image from 11/06. Plenty more to come!
